Liposuction will not benefit obese patients nor is it a substitute for weight loss. It is most effective in patients of relatively normal weight with good skin tone who have localized areas of fat accumulation that do not respond to dieting or exercise. In liposuction surgery, a special fat extractor, or cannula, is used to extract the fat through a very small pin point incision. Tumescent Liposuction can be performed under local or general anesthesia or with a mild sedative in our specially-equipped surgical suite.
